A new English-language setting of the Christmas Proclamation

May be found here (PDF). It uses the English text approved for liturgical use by the USCCB, but unlike the setting supplied by them, this melody is adapted from that employed with the original Latin text.

It is probably too late for many to use this setting, but there is always next year and thereafter, until the approved translation changes and those texts need to be adapted anew. This setting will be used at the 10pm Christmas Night Mass at St. Ignatius and will supplant the Kyrie.

    Aristotle,

This is fantastic! It seems like the most useful of all the available versions, and I’d definitely use it if I were in charge of my parish’s Christmas liturgy.

I wanted to point out a rather serious typo: it seems that your clef is in the wrong place, resulting in a mode 3 chant with lots of tritones — obviously not what is demonstrated in the recording.
