English-language prayers of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, in three Gregorian modes (PDFs and mp3s)

Divine Mercy ImageIn anticipation for next week’s Divine Mercy Novena, here are three Gregorian Chant–inspired settings of selected prayers of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, in chant notation.  The prayers set are: the “Eternal Father…” (to a Gregorian-informed melody), “For the sake…” (to a selected Psalm tone), and the Trisagion (to a melody similar in form to the “Eternal Father…”).

Those looking for mp3 recordings of the sung prayers may find them on this page.

Those familiar with the melodies from those hours of the Divine Office found in the Liber Usualis and the antiphons found in the Graduale Simplex will notice that the patterns are lifted from them and adapted to match the length of the prayers and the cadence of the English language.
