Offertory Antiphons for the 1970 Missal

In response to comments from Don and Nick, the Offertory antiphon texts for the Sundays and holydays of the year may be found on CanticaNova’s Liturgical Planning Guide. Psalm verses are numbered according to the Hebrew Psalter.

It is interesting to note that an official translation of the Offertory antiphons has never been initiated by ICEL. Therefore, Bible translations approved for the liturgy may be used as bases for composing liturgical music in the vernacular. In the USA, approved English translations are the New American Bible, Jerusalem Bible, and Revised Standard Version—Catholic Edition. The 1963 Grail Psalter may also be employed for psalmody.

For those with access to a Graduale Romanum, the Offertory psalms are numbered as they are in the Vulgate.
