You still call it Christ the King? In the Lutheran church they’re moving to “The Reign of Christ,” another PC step in the emasculation of Jesus.

“Christ the King? In the Lutheran church they’re moving to “The Reign of Christ,” another PC step in the emasculation of Jesus.”

I’m always aware of the awkward excision of male pronouns, and of the frequency with which prayers or phrases that I have long known containing the word “Father” are suddenly altered, but “reign” instead of “kingdom” is something I am just beginning to notice (in Catholic circles, wahoos.)

Another word being subtly erased is “Lord”, but I had thought it was more a matter of preferring to ignore the fact that… oh, we’re actually supposed to OBEY Him.

But perhaps it’s only a sex issue as well.

Shall we soon be hearing “have you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal boss and savior?”

Then there’s “Walk in the Reign”.

Phtagh.
