1 Peter 2:4-9
View in: NAB Vulg Greek
4Unto whom coming, as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen and made honourable by God:
5Be you also as living stones built up, a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6Wherefore it is said in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious. And he that shall believe in him, shall not be confounded.
7To you therefore that believe, he is honour: but to them that believe not, the stone which the builders rejected, the same is made the head of the corner:
8And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of scandal, to them who stumble at the word, neither do believe, whereunto also they are set.
9But you are a chosen generation, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a purchased people: that you may declare his virtues, who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
Matthew 16:13-19
View in: NAB Vulg Greek
13And Jesus came into the quarters of Cesarea Philippi: and he asked his disciples, saying: Whom do men say that the Son of man is?
14But they said: Some John the Baptist, and other some Elias, and others Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15Jesus saith to them: But whom do you say that I am?
16Simon Peter answered and said: Thou art Christ, the Son of the living God.
17And Jesus answering, said to him: Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jona: because flesh and blood hath not revealed it to thee, but my Father who is in heaven.
18And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven.

Thanks so much for putting this up! I will take my time sorting through the mp3’s, etc. I can hardly wait for the Installation Mass on Sunday.

Dear Aristotle,

Do you know what book the Cardinals were using during Pope Benedict’s first Mass? It appeared to be a green hardcover, but I couldn’t make out the words on the cover.

Thanks!

Bill White

(Bill, unfortunately I did not notice the book used by the Cardinals at this Mass. -AAE)

Thank you for the list. I was much struck by the beauty of the music at this Mass and especially by the introit. Is there any place where I can find the sheet music for the introit (Iubilate Deo)? I have a copy of Liber Usualis printed in 1952 but it doesn’t seem to be in it. Thank you.

The book used by the cardinals is:

Ordo Rituum Conclavis

2 aprile 2005, Libreria Editrice Vaticana
Hardcover , 344
- Language: Latin Italian
ISBN: 8820969432
Musical scores are from Graduale Romanum and simplex.
