Catholic Church Music, forty-eight years later - a series

Thanks to the generosity of a friend, I have a copy of the book Catholic Church Music, written by music critic and Catholic layman Paul Hume. This work was published in 1956, not long after the publication of the papal encyclical Musicae sacrae disciplina. Starting tomorrow, I’ll be posting excerpts from the book and some commentary. Your thoughts are welcome as well.
