So guys - how about that LifeTeen movement?
Don’t you just love it? (I am serious)
” how about that LifeTeen movement?
Don’t you just love it? (I am serious)”
Since you asked –
No.
Not a bit.
Not a tiny bit.
Not at all. (I’m serious.)
I’m sure there are well meaning people promoting it, and it has some catechetical value but the way is contributes to the degradation of the Liturgy, of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, is sickening.
Sorry to be so blunt, but I believe that despite short term enthusiasm and adrenaline, in the long run it will prove more damaging than otherwise.
Sorry you do approve Marge. You are missing a lot by not giving it a taste. I now lead music for the LifeTeen mass at St Bart’s in Katy TX every Sunday, and believe me the Holy Spirit is moving like never before since the joy and power and diversity of modern music has been released in worship. We wrote our own mass “Mass for the Servant’s Heart” and pick our music from a proven list - all in a format which has the approval of the Diocese.
I feel very sorry of all who cannot remember what it was like to be a teenager. I for one do (I am now 59 years old), and that is why I am where I am.
I am not being argumentative when I say with complete confidence that this IS the future of the church. No need to be afraid of being too Protestant - they do not fear us. We accept their baptism, so why not accept their enthusiasm? The fortress mentality has to be replaced by open enthusiasm.
I challenge all who poo poo the LifeTeen movement to purchase the LIVE IT CD from worshipmusic.com and listen to it. That’s the flavor of Lifeteen. Your heart will be touched.
Rock on Servant’s Heart. Jesus rules!
Tom McRae
