Paul Hume, Catholic music critic

Paul Hume, the late professor and music critic famous for drawing the ire of President Truman after panning his daughter’s recital, wrote a book in 1956 titled Catholic Church Music, complete with nihil obstat and imprimatur. I received it yesterday from a newfound friend, and am looking forward to seeing how the book confirms the adage, “the more things change, the more they stay the same.”
