"Protestant Songs at Mass?"

Fr. Edward McNamara, professor of liturgy at the Regina Apostolorum Pontifical Athanaeum, addresses the use of modern music and songs of Protestant origin during the liturgy.

While discussing the options for the Proper of the Mass—covered on this site in four parts [I, II, III, IV]—he goes further to emphasize the importance of suitable texts for the Propers and melodies for all texts.
