Fr. Gabriel Amorth on the Reform

of the Rite of Exorcism, that is.

30 Days: Father Amorth, the Italian translation of the new Ritual for Exorcists is finally ready.

Father Gabriel Amorth: Yes, it is ready. Last year the CEI didn’t want to approve it because it contained errors in the translation from Latin to Italian. And we exorcists, the ones who would have to use it, we took the opportunity to point out that, on a number of points, we were in disagreement with the New Ritual. But the underlying Latin text has remained the same in this revised translation. This long-awaited Ritual has turned into a farce. An incredible obstacle that is likely to prevent us acting against the demon.

It is sad and scandalous that high ranking church officials are looking at Satan as a pseudo-reality.
As FR.Amorth wisely said “when we refuse the existance of Satan, he is his happiest.”
Paul VI also commented that he saw the smoke of satan rising in the house of God.
With all types of new age ideologies and fake mysticism and spiritualism rising especially in Europe, Satan is having the time of his “life”.
We pray Our Lady of the clergy to give us more priests ready enough to keep their eyes open and their faith strong when faced with stronger visible manifestations of Satan, preannounced by the hunger for spirituality which is finding its answers in demonic inspired beliefs and faiths, particularly in Europe.

Prayers for Fr. A and others like him doing the heroic work of exorcism in the Church badly needed today. I would ask Fr. Amorth about the interm rite of 1990 and how to get a copy for research. I dont wish to take him away from his busy work but it would be important to myself and others to view this for liturgical study. God bless and our prayers to you all.
