Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year B

Music for 7:30 AM Mass, St. Ignatius Loyola Church, Hicksville, N.Y.

Alleluia: Chant (Tone VI)

Due to the resolution of the blackout, Mass was overamplified, stressful, but very prayerful (although the prayers were of a different nature than on Friday). A younger Legionary of Christ concelebrated, seemed to be more aware of the sound system’s settings, and adjusted his volume accordingly during the Eucharistic Prayer.

No gunshots were heard.

Update 08.18.03: More of this day’s liturgical music playlists from around the land via Dan, Gordon Zaft and Jane. (”One of these rites ain’t quite like the others…”) Excellent and necessary homilies offered by Fr. Carr, Fr. Johansen and Fr. Reitmeyer. Meanwhile, Mister Victor Lams analyzes the work of a GIA superstar featured on this day at another Mass.
