I chuckled when I read this Music for Mass post right after the letters to Pastoral Music posted above.
It illustrates well the line in Thomas Day’s letter about the “many talented church musicians who diplomatically and brilliantly blend sublime and ridiculous every weekend”.
I do hope those letters manage to stay up for a while. It’s almost a shame that rags like “Pastoral Music”, “Today’s Parish”, etc., don’t have online editions. Oh, the fun it would be…
