The phoenix rises from the ashes
Inspired by Mark Cameron’s post on the great Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi and his link to WTC, I searched for articles about both. Fascinating reading ensued. The pictures didn’t hurt matters, either. Here’s a taste:
- Google search on gaudi “world trade center” “grand hotel”;
- Fables of the Reconstruction: Can Antonio Gaudi’s Grand Hotel replace the Twin Towers? and another page with illustrations from the same site;
- Paranoia Magazine has two articles, short and long. (The long one dabbles in esoterica a fair amount, and I hesitated to include it here, but…)
As a native New Yorker, someone who 9/11/2001 personally touched, and a fan of Gaudi’s architectural style, I say build it as Gaudi would have if given the chance.
