Interesting finds in sacred music…

…at Ithaca’s Friends of the Library used book sale.

Melissa and I walked over to this twice-a-year event today to browse the offerings. Having found a couple of useful pieces last year, I checked out the offerings in the choral music section once again. Today’s search yielded:

  • Kyriale with Gregorian Notation, 1927 (J. Fischer & Bro.)
  • Orlandus Lassus: Twelve Motets for Two Equal Voices ed. by Paul Boepple, 1941 (Mercury Music)
  • Twenty-Six Modern Liturgical Two Part Motets compiled by James A. Reilly, 1943 (McLaughlin & Reilly)
  • The First Annual Choir Festival Service, Trinity Cathedral, Choir Festival Society of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, 1947
  • The Second Annual Choir Festival Service, Trinity Cathedral, Choir Festival Society of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, 1948
  • Mass in Honor of Vatican Council II by Gerhard Track, 1964 (Gregorian Institute of America)
  • “Ave Maris Stella” Mass by Carroll T. Andrews, 1965 (McLaughlin & Reilly)
  • Choral Mass 1970 by John Lee, 1970 (G.I.A. Publications)

I’ll be returning to this place on Thursday when the prices drop by 50%—hopefully, they’ll have more music available.
