Unsolicited compliment
“[Confessions] looks like a really good resource for music in the Liturgy.”—Gordon Zaft
Wow, Gordon! That’s quite a compliment. If it ends up being a good resource for music, it’s only by God’s will.
Admittedly, when it comes to music in the Liturgy, I’m not the most informed person out there. I’d like to think, though, that I’m at least as informed as anyone else who may be in a position like mine.
(If that’s not an invitation for you, dear reader, to expose my ignorance on the topic, I don’t know what is! If you do, though, please use kid gloves.)

Well, you are welcome. I’m working on a series of workshops on the music ministry — “why” and “how” to be present in my parish in the fall. The goal is to provide choir members and instrumentalists with insight into “why” we do this ( or the why we should do this) and “how” we can do it better. If you are interested I’ll forward you info about it.
Gordon, that would be wonderful. I’m looking forward to receiving the info.
Reading old posts (thanks to the “On this date in history” aspect of this blog ;-)) and I wondered, Gordon, if you still have any of the materials, or if you posted them on your blog, if you could direct my attention to them? (Choir rehearsals start up in two weeks, and I’m ruminating on presenting members with some reading for reflection or discussion on the what why and how of sung prayer.)
