"Mary’s really cool"

Melissa tells me that Mary’s really cool. I ask her why. She tells me, “If someone were to talk to you [meaning me] about something, and they talked to me [meaning her] first, I would probably present it better, and even more so later [when I'm actually married to you]. But if I were your daughter and your mother as well, there’s no way you wouldn’t listen to me!”

Let’s think about this: my father distills Mary’s relationship with God as such: she is the daughter of God the Father, the mother of God the Son, and the spouse of God the Holy Spirit. I’m sure he wasn’t the first to do so. Go ahead and ponder the mystery.
